This project is a half poetical, half-documentary atlas about some little towns from Northern Palencia (Spain). These places have undergone a severe economic, demographic and social collapse because of the dismantlement of coal mines. From 2004 to 2012, dozens of pictures were taken thereabout, featuring empty buildings, ruined sheds and rusted cars. Concerning each photograph, the life and deeds of every last dweller was imagined by drawing them all locked up inside like specters in a castle. A brief handwritten story tells us about their ill fate. In 2016, this project was awarded by a grant from the innovative program Lab 987 of MUSAC (León-Spain), to be professionally produced and exhibited in the Museum. The artworks have been recently donated to the municipality of Guardo (Palencia-Spain).
